Church - the rest are from our scouting drive of Stephanie's Mesa
Falls Marathon this next Saturday. We drove up into Island Park and
then took the scenic loop down, turning east at the N. Hatchery Road,
and then where it meets the Warm River road we found the "start".
Headed south from there on the warm river road back to the scenic
byway - the first 9 miles are all on a dusty road in the woods
(familiar to anyone who's driven Chick Creek road to IPSC). The next
leg is to Bear Gulch, apparently on and off the road there on trails -
then at Bear Gulch down on the east side to the old railroad siding
along the warm river. The trail bottoms out at Warm River (where we
feed the fish) and then it's uphill for 2 straight miles. You turn
west at the first major farm road til you get to Marysville, then down
through town to the Ashton Elementary!
Of, note - Stephanie completed her first triathlon ever, and came in
third in her age group. If she hadn't been so tidy in her first
transition (taking 4+ minutes) she probably would have won her age
group. Good job mommy! (Unfortunately with all the kids in tow I
couldn't get the camera out in time for the finish).
