Have you read Michener's "Centenniel" - it is set in this part of Colorado and it is fun to drive around and see the street names and the Beaver on the slopes of Long's peak and the Japanese truck farms, even Greeley's stockyards and have a sense of their history in the area. Michener taught in Greeley for several years- so I suppose that is how this book began.
